Hello everyone! Welcome to the start of the 2007
Michigan Gymnastics season. We're live from Crisler
Arena and the team is warming up. I'll be posting
lineups in a moment. |

The Maize Team consists of Nellie Kippley, Sarah
Curtis, Jordan Sexton, Becky Bernard, Clare Flannery,

A couple of notes thus far: Clare just warmed
up a solid handspring front pike on vault. Earlier,
Sarah warmed up a pak salto on bars. Now, Sarah's
warming up yurchenko fulls on vault. Jordan is working
on handspring front pikes on vault. |

Becky's doing her dance through on floor. Her
music is new, dramatic and sounds a bit like a tango.
Jordan's next...hers has a middle-eastern flair
and is quick paced. Jackie's warming up on beam.
Sarah's warming up floor at the moment - not sure
how to describe her music...techno a bit. Lindsey's
on beam - just finished her dismount and now Jackie's
on beam. |

Maureen just warmed up a double pike on floor.
Jackie is doing her dance through on floor as I
type. I know the song, but can't remember it. Maureen
finished her dance through and Huneth is now on
floor - she's using her floor routine from last
year - which is cool. Sarah was just on beam...I
think I saw her warm up a bhs-onodi. Lindsey is
now on floor - she has dramatic music this year...her
final season...hard to believe. |

Katie's on floor. She has the same music as last
season. Jordan just tumbled a bhs-L on beam and
a front 1 1/2 twist dismount. Sarah just did a double
tuck dismount on beam and Maureen just warmed up
a double tuck on floor. |

Well, the team has completed warm-ups. Ben and
Lindsay are next to me - preparing for our umgym.com
TV show. Again this season, we'll have a one-hour
television show on Comcast Local. This season, Lindsay
will assist Ben with the play-by-play. |

Final Comments |
Overall, I think the girls did a great job. We
have a bit more work to do in the gym ... but we
still have a month to go before the start of the
season, so that's to be expected. A few nerves from
the freshmen - but some great performances from
the freshmen - including Sarah on vault and floor,
Maureen on bars, and Kelsey on beam. Lindsey looked
great, as usual. It would be great to see Nellie
in the all-around. She did a great job tonight,
solid and consistent performances on all four events.We
have a few gymnasts still rehabbing injuries, but
are on the road to recovery. |
