Q & A - About Gymnastics and U-M

Why do you like doing gymnastics?   Not everyone can do it. It is such a challenging sport that pushes you to your every limit. I love the feeling of overcoming obstacles.
What is your favorite event or routine? Why?   Vault, because it is such a short event to compete and requires one giant surge of energy!

What attracted you to the University of Michigan?   The academics, coaches, girls, facilities, and overall traditions that Michigan has.
What has been your most memorable gymnastics moment at Michigan?   Working flip flop onodi front tucks and continually landing on my rear end ... determination is key!!

What has been your biggest challenge/obstacle in gym or college (or both) thus far? How did your overcome this challenge?
What has been your most embarrassing moment in the gym (ever)?   I did round off flip flop back layouts on beam and missed both feet, flipped underneath and bounced back up with a "I'm OK!" ... everyone laughed at that one.
What goes through your head immediately before a routine?   That I need to relax, I've done this a thousand times and just go hard because then you'll have no regrets.

What advice would you share with up-and-coming Michigan gymnasts?   Keep a positive attitude and continue to work hard, it helps get you places.
What is your favorite part of the gym meets?   The atmosphere ... it is so hard to be calm when everybody is so pumped up!
Other than Michigan, where is your favorite place to compete and why?   Anywhere near home so my whole family can come and watch.

What is the most interesting person that you've met at UM and why?   A kid in my Chemistry discussion class - because he knew so much about everything. It was amazing and I thought I was somewhat intelligent.
