Q & A - About Gymnastics and U-M

Why do you like doing gymnastics?   I've learned so many things by being a gymnast like determination, dedication, learning to deal with success, failure, and struggles, working with a team, and most importantly I do gymnastics because I love it!
What is your favorite event or routine? Why?   I love bars because it is so cool to watch and perform.

What attracted you to the University of Michigan?   I have wanted to attend the University of Michigan since I was in the 7th grade. Initially it was the amazing gymnastics team that sparked my attention, and after visiting the school, it was the academics, tradition, teammates, and coaches that really drew me in.

What has been your most embarrassing moment in the gym (ever)?   One time at a meet, actually. I forgot to salute a judge on vault, so I started getting reading to go and everyone just looked at me like, "What are you doing?"
What goes through your head immediately before a routine?   Right before a routine, I always say to myself, "C'mon let's go, you've got this." ... confidence is key!

What advice would you share with up-and-coming Michigan gymnasts?   I would tell them that they are going to face struggles when they come here, but the team and coaches are so motivating that any obstacle can be overcome.
What is your favorite part of the gym meets?   I love it when I, or one of my teammates, finishes an awesome set, and the team and audience just goes wild!
Other than Michigan, where is your favorite place to compete and why?   I will have to wait and see...

What is the most interesting person that you've met at UM and why?   I don't think I can pick one most interesting person thus far because I have met so many diverse people with backgrounds and cultures that are nothing like mine.
